Heya Guys, i know its been a while and this is rather a short blog, fraid i have been rather busy what with returning to University and other such events, but i just wanted to stop by to say … well hi … Its odd being back here, everything is the same, but in the four weeks i had back home i changed so much, “but Jon, how can you change so much in only four weeks!?!” well Chuck, i will answer your question, but first i gotta bust a move! “Don’t leave us hanging Jon!?!” All in good time Chuck. I have to go meet with some folks, and the sun is out so i am gonna go take a health dose of outside life.

Oh i went and saw Son of Rambow and 21 at the picture house! I recommend both, oh and make sure you go with good friends! that always makes it better.

Five Gold Rings

Good Morning, Gonna jump straight in today, only got about 4 hours sleep last night after playing some Call of Duty 4 on the PS3 with some mates, was disgusting, having had plenty of experience gaming at University now I have shocked my best mate by being a fair match for him. That’s right I am well trained in Console gaming, that’s all I have learnt from university, its quite stupid the amount of free time you have at university to waste. I probably spend more time gaming then I do studying when at university, and I am happy to admit that, ‘cause it’s not my fault! I do the work, honest I do, it’s just that in Commercial music they don’t give you much work, and believe me I have tried to get more work but its just not worth it anymore, its like trying to get blood out of a stone at that place. But then if I had the work I would be complaining that I had too much work to get done, catch 22.

 

Well the last few days I have been listening to a great and most underrated album “Onka’s Big Moka” by Toploader! A ridiculously cool album that some many people shrug off as a one hit wonder, I denounce thee!!! I cast thee out!!! This album is … fantastic! It has another 10 tracks after Dancing in the moonlight so don’t take it out already, that’s just not fair to the album! Give it a chance.

 

This not having Internet is proving to be more a problem then I thought, When you are trying to complete an Application form at other people’s homes and send personal Emails with people breathing down your neck. “You’ve spelt that wrong!” “Na I wouldn’t phrase it like that if I were you!” “Look, do this.” FEEL THE WRATH OF MY CAPS LOCK KEY AND LEAVE ME ALONE TO TYPE MY OWN DAMN EMAIL! Ok so many I am over reacting … a little bit. Plus not having Internet means I am not getting my facebook fix, I hate the grasp that thing has on my life!

 

As you can probably tell, my titles for these blogs are random and have no connection to the content. They are just a more interesting way to keep a track of the number of blogs I have written in a round about sort of way. 

The forth film of any series is always rubbish.

This is the problem I face, it has not been six hours from the last time I wrote a blog and I am already starting my next one for tomorrow. This could indeed be seen as sad, and with good reason. Especially since in between the two blogs I haven’t actually uploaded the first yet, and I have hurt my hand quite badly on the bathroom door and it hurts to type. But I am still typing. That’s either commitment or just poor dumb. Well I think I am gonna leave the rest of this to tomorrow when I actually have stuff to talk about so here’s a time lapse for you …

…Hi, I decided to leave it a bit before returning to word press, so I got a bit more to talk about. Am currently watching Magnificent Seven, one of the greatest old westerns I know of, and I know a lot of old westerns. Just having a lazy Sunday watching films, it is the good life! So have been doing loads of searching for a career this past week and with some success, have found a job at the hospital that I am now applying for, looks pretty good and has career opportunities, first I have to get the job though. And to be honest sitting here watching Yul and Steve defend a small farm town just south of the boarder is making me wish I was a gunner back in the old west, pure escapism.

Been back to work this week as well, first shift was shocking and the second, interesting. I met a really great girl on the cosmetics stand at a Debenhams in Cambridge; I think I should explain a couple of things first. I am an auditor working for RGIS we go into shops and do the stock take for them. Horrible hours, pay is alright, and there is a pile of travelling. But you do get to meet and work with new staff from different shops every shift, oh and the shifts aren’t regular, you only work when they ask you to work. But anyway back to the last shift I did on Thursday, we started in the cosmetic section at the front of the store, and because we are an untrustworthy bunch, that’s just how they treat us, we have to be supervised while we count the expensive stock. So each of us counting the stock was supervised by someone from the store I happened to be supervised by the only one my age working there and she just happened to be one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen, funny, smart, doing a graphics design course and a gorgeous smile. We talked and got on great but I made too stupid mistakes, one I didn’t get her number, or give her mine and two I didn’t even get her name. Opportunity well and truly wasted. Only doing three more shifts over the next two weeks, have to say I am pretty happy about that too, less money but less stress.

Third day and a third blog, it seems that being at home for the holiday has allowed me more time for journal entries then I original thought, I suppose it’s a good thing really, at this time in my life anyway. Being at home means that I have no internet, my parents haven’t got broadband because well they just don’t use it and therefore don’t need it, enough said. Hopefully when I move back here at the end of term we shall see that this situation changes, the internet a necessary evil. At the moment though I am loving not having it on tap, when at university I often find myself wasting away in front of facebook and myspace and reading silly blogs … wait … never mind.
Currently having a break from family stuff, it has been quite an active house, something I think my parents aren’t use to. Both sisters are home and Grandparents have been round often. Been great to see everyone, like I said before, I love them all. If I repeat myself in this thing, let us know and I shall … keep repeating myself.
Well today I have little planned again, gonna try and see some friends today and tomorrow as Wednesday It will be work. Not really looking forward to it at all. But I have said I would do the work, so another necessary evil. This business of saying yes to people is becoming a problem. Being someone that enjoys doing for others, basically ‘cause its easier then trying to decide what to do for yourself, has its rewards and curses. It’s not the right attitude to have in the music industry and don’t think it’s a great attitude to have in life anymore, its great to be helpful and caring but it is far too easy to get walked over, and it can seriously mess up relationships. So anyway I have said I would do the work so I will. This is why I am returning to University for my last term, not that I have got to do the lectures or that I want to anymore, just that I have commitments to bands and playing bass for people. I enjoying it don’t get me wrong, am playing for some great song writers from the second and third year groups, and some of the bands in first year are great fun Just not the same as playing music that I have written or co written. Doubt I will be taking many lectures just gonna be playing for people and enjoying my friends before I head off in to the world of 9-5.
Some people say I am lazy like that, I still call it efficiency.
I feel like I am just rambling about myself, maybe that’s what you are suppose to do in a blog, so I am enjoying it, just not sure how many other people are gonna enjoy reading it. Don’t worry I shall make some political and current affairs comments in the next few blogs to give us something to talk about. Or I might just do what everyone else does and talk about gaming, that’s always fun.
Would love to have some comments on my style of writing as well I am still developing it and just wanna know if you guys, who ever you are, are enjoying my writing style or if you find it dull. Be honest I can take it, I am a machine!

That’s enough plugging my forthcoming blogs and now on to the rest of today’s lesson, Stereophonics, a most underrated band, especially the album “You gotta go there to come back” its been a personal favourite of mine for a long time, guess I started listening to about when it came out, been about 5 years ago now. Can still listen to the whole thing with out getting bored, I just love the song writing, the sounds, the lyrics, just an all round great album, but often over looked by fans for albums such as “enough education”. Don’t get me wrong I love all their stuff, just “you gotta go there” has something that the others don’t, a feeling of honesty perhaps or a sense of raw emotion that I can relate to or have related to, I just can’t shake the connection. Its also one my many CDs that hasn’t got a broken case.
Some people collected LP records and say that CDs don’t have the warmth of a record or the touch, to be honest I don’t really care, it’s the music on the format we love. I grow up with CDs, all the music that I loved, when I was young, was printed on CDs. And it really grates me when people of my age think that they have nostalgia for records, you grew up when I did, you bought CDs when I did, you weren’t there when records were the only format, stop trying to be cool, and be cool.
Anyone get that reference, have yourself 5 points.

First step, first blog part 2.1

After my first blog at midnight last night I have decided that it was not complete and that it definitely needed a second part to make my first impression on the weblog world a wholly honest one. I guess this is gonna be more of a journal then a blog, sure I will have opinions on current affairs and such but I guess the reason for it being more a journal is the fact that I am about to embark on a well journey.

 As I said in my first blog last night I am currently a music student at university, it’s a good course with many great attributes but lets face it the music industry isn’t an easy career path, and musicians aren’t always the easiest people to get on with, I know, I am one. It’s a turbulent industry and there are a lot of things that are more important to me then making piles of green, Family for one, the chance to meet a great girl and have well the steady life.

Sounds pretty dull in comparison to a career in music, but then what is the music industry anymore, there is no living the rock star life anymore. Its hard work for musicians these days, and my word there is a lot of them, almost as many as there are people to listen to the music, and it’s a shame that so many people still think that they can get a degree in commercial music and instantly be rock stars. I feel that I am smart enough to get out now while I am still young. Making money in the industry has changed dramatically, for example a band has to do a lot of leg work before it gets picked up by a label, even indie labels are hard to get deals with, having been in a working band before attending university I know how hard it is to get shows let alone good ones. Getting noticed by the right people is rock solid and to be honest it isn’t worth it anymore.

The old band was ace, great fun, but all my mates that played with me in that band have moved on to other things, the vocalist is studying to be a drama teacher the drummer is about to do an engineering degree or some such, meaning to talk to him about that. And the guitarist has gone home to South Africa where he is studying business.

Strange how things turn out, here I am the only one let from the band still playing music. It just seems so hollow when you’re not doing it with your best mates. And like I say there are things that are much more important to me, it’s about time I went and found them, get me some “Kwan”!

Anyone that gets that reference, have yourself ten points.

So yeah I am currently having a nice Easter break, off to do some night shifts stocktaking next week, should be … fun … I hope some of the staff I worked with before are still there. After that back to Kent for my last term at university, might cut it short, might not. Gonna make the most of it though, before returning home for summer and the foreseeable future. Getting me a 9-5 job earning a little cash, maybe travel a bit, get fit, lose this musicians body and find me a rewarding and satisfying career. The hunt has already begun, with many options arising and falling, no decisions as of yet, as soon as I make any I will let you know.

Well I think I am gonna leave it there for today, have written quite a lot and anyone that is reading this will probably want a cup of tea by now. So go and come back soon refreshed. First step, First blog.

Hey, my name is Jon, young and the like, living a student live at the moment, though all that is to change. not the name but the being young and the student life that’s gonna be changing.

First of i feel i should explain my user name and blog title, JaySee is an old nickname that a lot of my … well old friends still use. having just returned from university i am seeing a lot of my old friends and putting on the old nickname feels like putting on an old warm and comforting coat… Anyway the name has stuck for so long now why change, other nicknames have come and gone, but that one i fear will never leave so i don’t fight it anymore, i just accept it. The Pricable is simple my first name is Jonathan hence Jay and my last name is Coy hence C or See. This being my first blog i have decide that i would … well See what happens … ta da! a witty user name!

Now i don’t feel completely original doing this as it was a good friend that has inspired me to start blogging, i had been considering doing something like this, but with videos, Vlogs if you will. But this is a much more … traditional and well less filming of my face, now i am pretty but i just don’t think the world is ready for this kind of pretty. I believe i got off point, ah yes, Andy Hall, i have been living in the same building as him for the last few months and we have spend many hours playing Xbox together. By the Way Andy i shall morn the loss of your Xbox.

Yeah i guess with the start of his blog i thought why not, lets see what happens! a motto of great adventure and wonder. But unfortunately there is little adventure to be had in this first blog, i believe that in future blogs i will have more to say but for now i shall leave it there. I hope to be blogging often but i doubt the opportunities will arise as often as i would like, life gets in the way.

Before i go though, i shall do a quick list of things about myself, i am a musician that is dropping out of music university after only two terms. I play many instruments and love composing music, but find the idea of a career in music in these strange days and unsightly occupation. Off point again, i apologise. I have an interest in The world around me, that great outdoors, an interest i have neglected through my youth, a miss spend youth playing video games and chasing girls. Anyway, I love my mountain bike, even though i currently have a shoddy back wheel. I love my family, even though my niece wakes me at unearthly hours, seeing her playing and happy is a gift. I love my friends, all of ‘em, yes even the ones that are taking the time to read this, i love you.

Right well i think i have said enough for now, my eye lids think that i have and so i shall away to sleep until my niece wakes me up again.
